Materials Used

Our goal being; to provide quality jewelry for a reasonable price while sticking to an eco friendly driven ideoligy.  The materials used in the project are of quality and long lasting. Meaning you can wear our products for a few years on a daily basis and they will still keep their shine and color. On this page you will find a list of all the materials used in the project.

14k Gold Filled

Gold-filled items are 50 to 100,000 times thicker than regular gold plating and 17 to 25,000 times thicker than heavy gold electroplate. Gold-filled jewelry, also known as "rolled gold" or "rolled gold plate" is composed of a solid layer of gold bonded with heat and pressure to a base metal such as brass. Some high quality gold-filled pieces have the same appearance as 14 karat (58%) gold. In the USA the quality of gold filled is defined by the Federal Trade Commission. If the gold layer is 12 kt or higher the minimum layer of karat gold in an item stamped GF must equal at least 1/20 the weight of the total item. Gold-filled items, even with daily wear, can last 10 to 30 years.

Karen Tribe 927 Sterling Silver

The Karen tribe are and indigenous peoples that reside in the North of Thailand in the mountains surrounding the city of Chiang Mai. These people are known for their generations old custom of welding silver by hand. During the Siam dynasty they were the king's court silver smiths. Through out the years they have formatted different techniques accustomed to them and today are experiencing a growing popularity in the west due to their unique designs, high quality and precision. Their works incorporate a higher grade of silver (927) which in turn allows for more flexibility when welding silver by hand. Working with the Karen tribe falls within the 9 principles of Fair Trade, in that we are supporting an indigenous culture and it's ancient art form.
